We are really enjoying our stay here, so quiet & relaxing after the hustle & bustle of leaving the ship & the train journey yesterday.
Last night we wandered around & took some photos. The hotel is located right on the famous Grand Prix circuit, hairpin bend so have taken a couple of shots from just outside the hotel. As the Grand Prix was only held last week many of the barriers are still in place, but not there normally. Tried to get one of the many Lambourgini (?spelling) but ended up with a smart car instead:
Next we ordered dinner (a great pasta & type of enclosed pizza) plus a bottle of wine. It was all very enjoyable.
Back to the hotel & an early night.
This morning we awoke to a fantastic sunrise:
Headed up to the Horizen Restaurant on the top floor for breakfast. Luckily it was included as the cost is 38 euro's/pp otherwise. Was a beautiful spot to enjoy the great food. Mountains of fresh fruit, juices etc & an omelette bar where I had the best one ever. We stayed for quite a while just drinking coffee & enjoying the views:
As we were leaving we came accross another couple who were joining us on our APT trip tomorrow (we stay here another 3 nights & are taken on some tours by APT, then join the river boat on Thursday). They seem very nice and have cruised with APT previously & love it.
After breakfast we headed off on a walk and ended up walking under the hotel along beside the race track. Saw some pretty impressive dwellings along the way.
Eventually walked back to our hotel to do a little washing (not sure they will appreciate us hanging our undies on the balcony though). A few pics of the walk back:
Will send this off now & maybe write more later tonight. We meet with our tour guide and the other passengers this evening.
