Before I start todays entry, here are some photos from our sail yesterday evening from Miltenberg:
This morning we were docked in Wursburg by 8.30am, so must have made good time overnight. What a beautiful town this is & officially in Bavaria, not Bulgaria as I posted on my Facebook page!
Despite booking into the tour of the Wursburg Residence Palace, after being told last night we were not allowed to take cameras, water or backpacks with us, we decided to walk into Wursburg & do our own exploration. I just love taking photos (for every one I put on my blog, I have another 50 saved on my iPad) so was not happy being told I couldn't take any.
Our decision turned out to be the right one as we left the ship before 9am, walked a very scenic 20 minutes into the town square & took lot's of photos before anyone else had arrived to spoil our views. Here are some photos of the beautiful church, bridge & buildings in the main square.
We had a look through some shops, purchased a new camera bag each & I found a nice top, then began to walk back to the ship & discovered a really nice pub so stopped for a drink.
Then we decided to stay for lunch & have a change from the food on the ship. We chose a schnitzel with traditional potato salad & were not disappointed. It was delicious & really cheap as well. Of course we had to have another drink to wash it down & then I realised I had made a post on Facebook stating we were in Bulgaria instead of Bavaria! Thank goodness I edited before too many people noticed :) That wine was much stronger than I thought!
