A Beautiful Evening in Avignon

I am doing a little extra post on our evening in Avignon. Because of the time involved with this blog I tend to not write much on our evenings. Maybe I need to spend less time socialising & having fun & more writing this & sorting photos? Not likely!!

Last night was special & started with a delicious 5 course Chaine des Rotisseurs dinner. It was just amazing (wish I had taken my camera to dinner). All the French classics & the best meal onboard this ship so far.

During dinner our tour guide announced that the Captain had agreed to take us for a shory sail to the Pont d' Avignon (Avignon Bridge) which originally spanned the Rhone River & was built in 1171. It suffered numerous collapses & was reconstructed many times until it was decided to build a new bridge in the 1700s.

These photos were taken between 9 & 9.30pm. Still daylight as you can see!

Now a few photos of our new friends on the sun deck.

Judy & John

Jenny & Richard

Gisele & Jan

Mike & I

Jan (pronounced Yaun) dancing with Emma (our wonderful cruise director)

And yes, I have saved trhe best for last ...... me with Captain Danny (the young one) & the deputy captain.

Captain Danny .... very cute & nice as well

You can see just how tough it is here on board :)

After we docked again we went back to the lounge for a nightcap & listened to a fabulous duo playing classical music. A very good evening was had by all.
