Coach Transfer from Budapest to Prague

Saturday July 5th 2014

Just a brief entry for today as we spent most of it onboard our coach & it was raining a bit, not to mention I actually slept about 50% of the time. Very unusual as it's usually Mike who does all the sleeping, just think the last few days were pretty busy so am finally catching up!

We said goodbye to our friends onboard the AMABella (including our lovely tour director, Korena) & boarded the coach at 8am. We met our new tour director fot the next 3 days, Adela (nicknamed by APT Bubbles). Well what a little pocket rocket Bubbles is! She is very sweet and full of energy, not to mention extremely organised.

A few photos of the countryside. The yellow is sunflowers & we saw many fields of these.

Our first stop was around 10am for coffee & bathrooms. Because the restrooms were of the paying variety, Bubbles had a roll of Hungarian coins, handing one to each of us so we could use the facilities without having to obtain the correct currency. Just one of those extra things APT does to ensure a smooth experience.

Next stop was in a little winery just inside The Czech Republic for lunch. This was also included by APT so no added expense. The food was great with a choice of salad, roasted chicken or pork. The meals were huge and the meat very tender. We also had the included wine & coffee.

After one more confort break we arrived at our hotel, The Raddison Blue Alcron, at 4.15pm & because we had completed our registration enroute, our rooms were ready to go to immediately.

We were really happy with ours as it was huge (see photos) with a seperate lounge area & large desk. The bathroom has a large bath with a shower, a separate shower & a separate toilet as well. The entire bathroom is larger than most hotel rooms.

When we went downstairs for our guided walk at 5.30pm, Bubbles asked me if I liked our room and of course I said yes. Then she told me quietly that we must be special with APT as we were selected for an upgrade to a suite. No complaints here! When we walked past other rooms with doors open they were tiny compared to ours. Don't tell them though :)

It started to rain as we set off for our guided walk, however, it eased soon & we walked to Wencelous Square, which is very near our hotel, stopping to be shown reliable ATM'S, money exchange centre, restaurants etc. We headed back towards our hotel, stopped for dinner around 7pm, then an early night.

More soon.
