Budapest City Tour

Friday July 4th 2014

Well it is late Friday afternoon & we have just returned from our excursion around lovely Budapest. It certainly is an amazing city, however not as large as I mentioned in my previous post. The population is 1.8 million, not 10 million!

This will be a very quick post with photos & not many words as we have to finish packing, get ready for dinner, then we have a scenic sail through Budapest at night, before crashing into bed. We are both feeling really tired today & need to be up at 5.30am Saturday to finish packing & put our luggage out ready for our coach transfer to Prague at 8am. As it will be a long trip tomorrow & we don't expect to arrive at our hotel until later afternoon, I probably won't post anything further until at least Saturday.

Some of the old buildings on our tour around the Pest area:

Hero Square (best I could do from a moving coach):

Beer Bus:

Budapest Opera House where we were taken on a guided tour & then treated to a glass of champagne & a small segment of opera songs.

The famous Chain Bridge:

A few more photos taken from the Budda side

More on Sunday :)
